Asymmetric (meaning non-symmetrical) Tread Patterns has a specific area of the tread for different performance aspects of its purpose, for example the inside of the tread could aid in the braking and accelerating where the outside edge could aid in the corning depending on the design.
Asymmetrical tyres have less repetitive tread blocks across the treaded area which helps with reducing noise generated from the tyre block edge hitting the road surface.
An asymmetrical tread can run clockwise or anti clock wise in rotation but has and inner and an outer part of the tread and when fitted the outer sidewall of the tread must be the side facing outwards.
An asymmetrical treaded tyre will have “outside” or a word meaning the same stamped on the outer sidewall and like wise the inner side wall will have “inner” stamped onto it.
