We offer a mobile wheel alignment service to all our customers (aka mobile tracking service)
Wheel Alignment, Geometry, Tracking are all different names meaning the same thing, which is basically how one wheel aligns with the other wheel on the same axle.
Incorrect alignment can result in inner or outer edge wear on your tyres and can also have an effect on your vehicles fuel economy because the drag cause by the tyres working against each other would require more energy to propel the vehicle along.
In most cases where a vehicle has independent rear suspension it would also have the facility for the rear alignment to be adjusted.
Tyre wear:
If the wheels were toeing in to much this could cause wear the outer edge of the tyre, where if the wheels were toeing out to much this could cause wear on the inside edges of the tread.
Toe in:
is where the distance between the front of the wheels is smaller than the distance between the rear of the wheels on the same axle
Toe out:
is where the distance between the rear of the wheels is smaller than the distance between the front of the wheels on the same axle
Two Wheel Alignment:
is where an axle is aligned to itself via the toe in toe out method. (not commonly used nowadays due to the inability to remove the steering wheel because of airbags etc to straighten it)
Four Wheel Alignment:
is where an axle is aligned to itself via the toe in toe out method and also aligned to flags on the other axle to keep the steering wheel or thrust angle straight.
Thrust angle:
Thrust angle is the direction that the rear wheels are pointing in relation to the center line of the vehicle.
